The Public Service Commission (PSC) Recruitment Portal which caters to jobseekers who wish to apply for government vacancies has been upgraded.
Applicants must check and update their account with complete details while applying for job vacancies, Mohammad Rouhan bin Haji Hassan, Executive Officer, Recruitment Section, Public Service Commission said at the Government e-Service Clinic held at the Ministry of Education yesterday.
Hajah Maimunah binti Seruji, Assistant Secretary at the Recruitment Section, was on hand to answer inquiries and explain details of the revamped portal.
The aim of upgrading the portal, Mohammad Rouhan said, was to add information on the personal profile of the applicant including the district where he/she belongs to and to update the information status on the applicant dashboard as well as to overcome the problems faced by former government servants while applying for job vacancies.
The PSC Recruitment Portal which has been activated since February this year is divided into two phases and contains 11 modules comprising advertisement and application of jobs, search ability, tracking, qualifications, layers of security, data migration, confirmation and report preparation.
Phase one focuses on replacing manual application form while phase two deals with the management of recruitment, which commenced from April this year and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
For government servants who would like to apply for other government jobs, they must possess updated information on the GEMS (Government Employee Management System) which can be accessed automatically in the PSC Recruitment Portal. The service record in GEMS must be updated by the respective ministry or department. The government applicants must submit the online application through Point of Contact in the respective ministry or department. After completing 100 per cent of the information, the selected Point of Contact will then forward the support and confirmation of the applicant online to the PSC before 24 hours of the deadline for the job vacancy.
The objectives of the PSC Recruitment Portal was to replace the manual system and to speed up the application process for government jobs. Applicants can receive online notification for interview/test as well as the result.
The Government e-Service Clinic is one of the government campaigns to promote e-services. It was organised by e-Darussalam, the official web portal of the government. It is a mandatory requirement to have an e-Darussalam account to access online services such as the PSC recruitment system, renewal of driving licence, electricity bill payment, submission of electric meter reading and applying for business licences.
For more information on e-Darussalam, the public can visit www.gov.bn or contact 123 by e-mail to info@123.com.bn.
