The IT Service Operations provide IT common services for Government of Brunei Darussalam with facilities to house the IT equipment in a state-of-the-art design Data Centre which are centrally monitored and managed in a secured network operation centre (SNOC).

Hours of operations are Monday to Friday from 6.30 am to 7 pm excluding Sunday and Public Holidays.

The main functions are to provide the following support services:

  • Computing server operation, monitoring and management including batch work, scheduling & execution and data backup.
  • Network operation, monitoring and management to enable a single government network with a single internet gateway.
  • Monitoring and management of system and network security.
  • Help Desk  services for the co-location and co-hosting customers.
  • Facilities management of the Data Centre.
  • Monitor, operate and manage the common services provided to Government employees.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • To provide a consolidated data centre to house the Government servers to enable the central monitoring and management in order to ensure the security of the data.
  • To provide a 24x7 data centre facilities management.
  • To provide a 24x7 system and network monitoring and management.
  • To provide a secured access control in terms physical entry & exit, networks and systems.
  • To provide common services which are centrally monitored and managed to ensure confidentiality, integrity, authentication and non-repudiation.

 

ROLES:   

01   Ensure all the servers housed in the Data Centre are monitored, managed and maintained.

02   Log, escalate and resolve all incidents related to computing servers operations, networks, security and data centre facilities.

03   Manage centrally the physical and network security of the data centre and all its components.

04   Manage centrally all the the facilities provided for the data centre.

05   Ensure the networks in the Data Centre are monitored, managed and maintained as well co-ordinate with the Telco providers and the ISPs to provide efficient government-wide bandwidth.

06   Promote government IT personnel with specialised knowledge on system, network and security skills.
